Project Feed Hope - Phase I
Nourishing the Voiceless
Launched on March 8, 2026, across the Colombo area, Phase I focused exclusively on animal welfare. Recognizing the daily struggles of street animals, our dedicated members took to the streets to provide high-quality, nutritious meals to stray dogs. This initiative was driven by a deep sense of compassion, ensuring that the often-overlooked animals in our urban environment received much-needed nourishment and care.
Project Feed Hope - Phase II
Uplifting the Community
Successfully executed on April 3, 2026, within the Colombo area. Shifting focus to human welfare, this phase was dedicated to alleviating hunger among underprivileged individuals and families facing severe economic hardships. Our team distributed warm, freshly prepared meals, reinforcing our commitment to food security and community support.
RoadX
Infrastructure Development
Executed all day on April 23, 2026, "RoadX" stands as one of the largest physical infrastructure projects organized by the Leo Lions Club of Colombo Uptown Eminence. Located near the Gauthama Arana in Radawadunna, Gampaha, the club partnered directly with local residents to transform an underdeveloped rural path into a fully paved concrete road. This massive, labor-intensive initiative successfully eliminated a major transportation barrier, providing the local community with long-term, sustainable infrastructure that will permanently ease daily travel and uplift the entire region's accessibility.
Punchi Hadawathe Awurudu
New Year Festival
"Punchi Hadawathe Awurudu" was a heartwarming Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival organized by the Leo Lions Club of Colombo Uptown Eminence for approximately 25 children at the Lawris Childrens' Home in Colombo 10. The event provided a completely new festive experience for the home, featuring a special morning breakfast, traditional Avurudu games like musical chairs and balloon bursting, ice cream treats, and a gift distribution. This deeply engaging project successfully uplifted the spirits of the children, fostering a sense of joy, cultural inclusion, and community belonging.
Life Beyond Diabetes
Health Awareness Campaign
"Life Beyond Diabetes" was a focused public health and awareness campaign organized by the Leo Lions Club of Colombo Uptown Eminence in the Kelaniya area. Dedicated to one of the core global causes of Lions International, club members actively engaged with the local community to distribute approximately 50 educational leaflets detailing critical information on diabetes prevention and management. This grassroots advocacy project successfully raised local health literacy and reinforced the club’s commitment to promoting proactive health and well-being.
